Phone leads with PPC advertising

Google has said that 70% of mobile searchers call a business directly from search results, so if your main goal is to make the phone ring then the new Google AdWords feature could be a great addition to your PPC advertising campaign. The new ‘call-only’ ads are finely tuned to only show on devices that are capable of making calls, allowing you to display your phone number and business description alongside a prominent call button.

The important question you must be able to answer before implementing these new ads is what value do you place on a call to your business? Whilst the AdWords strategy is still based on cost-per-click (i.e. you are charged each time someone clicks on your phone number), you are effectively bidding on a phone call lead.

Your call-only ads will need to be engaging and include a strong call to action such as ‘call now’ or ‘contact our experts today’. With compelling ad text and an easy to use click to call button these new ad formats have the potential to have your phone ringing all day!
