Search Engine Optimisation
Let’s look at Search Engine Optimisation as a pie chart, it can be broken down into numerous sections, with each section representing a part of a search engine’s algorithm. Some sections may contribute more to the ranking of a website than others, yet without all of the sections a website will not be fully optimised.
The algorithms change. Specific algorithms are more important than others in one year but the following year it may change. This means SEO is continuously developing to make it more difficult for people to get the high rankings on their website.
What do you think is the most important part of SEO?
I’ll discuss with you a few key SEO algorithms with you:
-Domain authority – If your website has a high domain authority, search engines such as Google will think and index your web page as popular and relevant. Domain authority can be built through quality links, link juice from another webpage with high domain authority, quality content, and social signals are a few ways to increase domain authority to a webpage.
– Social Metrics – A website who is ranked high on social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Google+, with a high percentage of shares and tweeted links will gain a higher ranking.
– Keywords – Keywords are words that users are likely to search for in a search engine and if you have assigned the specific keyword a user searches for in a search engine your webpage should be listed higher.
