Advantage of Seasonal Spending
It’s not too late to get an awesome Christmas campaign running to boost sales this festive season. For all of you e-commerce businesses, there’s a huge opportunity to get involved with 2 of the biggest shopping days of the year and get the orders rolling in!
Black Friday
Last year an estimated £810 MILLION was spent on Black Friday in the UK – I’m sure you all saw the stampedes of shoppers fighting over bargain TV’s on the news! Retail giants said to be taking part in Black Friday this year include Apple, Argos, Ebay and a whole host of huge high street names.
Why don’t you take advantage of the ‘Black Friday’ craze, which made its way over to the UK from America in the last few years, by offering attractive deals and discounts to customers in late November (this year Black Friday will happen on the 27th November but some retailers may start their deals earlier).
Cyber Monday
Following Black Friday, the little less rowdy Cyber Monday takes place the Monday after the Thanksgiving holiday in the US. Put simply this event is exclusively online (unlike Black Friday which can be both online and in store). This year, Cyber Monday will be on the 30th November, with most retailers starting their sales at midnight.
As a 24 hour event, you can really generate a lot of interest by starting to promote your Cyber Monday sales NOW! Limited offers are a real eye catcher, especially if you can offer some real bargains! Without the hustle and bustle of rowdy shoppers, the only injuries which may be sustained on Cyber Monday are by websites overloaded with visitors! So make sure that your site is ready for the high volume of traffic! The UK is set to generate over £1 BILLION this year, so it’s definitely something we’d recommend to e-commerce businesses to take part in.
